Mainstream Fiction Book Star Rating System
5 Stars - I highly recommend this book! I absolutely loved this book and couldn't put it down! I likely read it all in one day (or multiple if it was super long!). Books that I rate 5 stars are ones that I will want to keep forever, and though I rarely reread books (as there just isn't enough time in the day), I'll definitely want to reread it again.
4 Stars - I would recommend this book. Books with a 4 star rating are books that I really enjoyed, but are not books that I leave wanting to reread over and over again.
3 Stars - A book that was given a 3 star rating is a book that I enjoyed. It likely did not grab my attention and keep me engaged the whole way through the book, but it was an enjoyable read that I did not hate. I'll likely forget what the plot of these books are in a year or two, but I didn't hate them at the time.
2 Stars - I would not recommend this book to a friend. Books that I give a 2 star rating to are books that I have finished, but struggled with. These books are ones that I want to abandon, but pushed through to the end.
1 Star - I do not recommend this book. Books that get a 1 star rating from me are books that I did not finish. Sometimes, you come across a book that just doesn't jive well with you, and while that is rare for me, it does happen. Books that I did not finish are not counted in my yearly book count.

5 Stars - I highly recommend this book! This was a book that I will forever want to keep on my shelf and reference often. It likely had insights that helped me see things in a way that will forever change how I live my life and/or how I read and study God's Word. By the end of the book, I'll likely have page upon page highlighted and marked up with notes!
4 Stars - I really enjoyed this book. This book had a lot of great things inside and meant a lot to me. I would most likely recommend this book to others.
3 Stars - This book was just average. It most likely discussed beliefs that I hold personally, but it wasn't one that would stay with me for a while. I likely wouldn't recommend this book.
2 Stars - This book was one that I could finish reading, but it didn't hold much power or worth to me. I wouldn't recommend this book and I wouldn't read it again.
